2. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences (language, login), measure traffic, or display relevant ads. Some are removed when you close the browser (session cookies), others persist for longer (persistent cookies).

3. Cookie categories we use

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies

Without these cookies the site does not function. Processing is based on the legitimate interest of the controller pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and does not require user consent.

• cc_cookie — stores your choice in the cookie banner. Retention: 1 year.
• PHPSESSID — server session identifier. Retention: until the browser closes.

3.2 Analytics / statistics cookies (with consent)

Help us measure traffic and understand how visitors use the site. Processing is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 109(8) of Slovak Act No. 452/2021 Coll. on electronic communications.

4. Data transfers outside the EU

Some of the third parties listed above (notably Google) transfer part of the data to the USA. The transfer is covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Commission Decision of 10 July 2023) or by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

5. Your rights

As a data subject you have the right under GDPR:

• of access to your personal data (Art. 15)
• to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
• to erasure ("right to be forgotten", Art. 17)
• to restriction of processing (Art. 18)
• to data portability (Art. 20)
• to object to processing (Art. 21)
• to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3)); withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal

You can exercise your rights via e-mail at recepcia@hoteldemanova.sk. We respond within 30 days as a rule; in complex cases this period may be extended by a further 60 days, of which we will notify you.

7. Audit of consents given

We log every consent given or changed in the cookie banner so we can demonstrate it was lawfully obtained, as required by Art. 7(1) GDPR and § 14(1) of Slovak Act No. 18/2018. Processing is based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — demonstrating GDPR compliance and handling potential disputes.

Each record contains:

• random consent ID stored in the cc_cookie cookie
• date and time of issue/change
• action type (initial consent / preference change / withdrawal)
• accepted cookie categories
• version of this policy at the time of consent
• URL of the page where consent was given
• anonymised IP address (last octet zeroed; for IPv6 only the /64 prefix is kept)
• browser identifier (User-Agent)
• referrer (previous page), if available

Records are stored in Google BigQuery (operator Google Ireland Limited, dataset hosted in EU multi-region). Google acts as a processor under a data processing agreement and Standard Contractual Clauses. Even with the dataset located in the EU, Google has access to metadata from its US control plane for operations and support; the transfer is covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Records are retained for 5 years from the last consent change. After this period they are automatically deleted.

8. Updates

We may update this document. When the text or list of cookies changes we increase the policy version and ask for your consent again.
